Communication matters 

Speech pathology is a health profession that offers client and family-centred services for people of all ages (including babies, children, teenagers and adults) with communication and/or swallowing difficulties.  


At Interhealth, Speed pathologists work together with family, educators and other health professions involved in a person's care.  This helps to tailor services to individual needs so that people may reach their full potential and participate in everyday life.  We offer evidence based services across a variety of locations, including at our clinic, preschool/schools, home and community settings.  

This includes: 

- Paediatric assessment and intervention to assist with 

  • ​Speech

  • Language

  • Stuttering

  • Literacy

  • Social Skills 

  • Augmented and alternative communication (AAC)

  • School readiness

  • Feeding

- Adult assessment and intervention to assist with: 

  • Communication difficulties as a result of acquired brain injury, post stroke, traumatic brain injury and neurodegenerative conditions e.g. Parkinson's disease, Multiple Sclerosis and dementia.  

  • Multimodal communication and AAC

  • Stuttering 

  • Social communication skills 

  • Supporting transition and/or return to work 

  • Swallowing difficulties 

- Education and training for family, carers, educators and staff.
